Welcome to Polavaram Project Authority
As per the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014, Polavaram Irrigation Project
has been declared a National Project and it is expedient in the public interest
that the Union should take under its control the regulation and development of the
Polavaram Irrigation Project for the purposes of irrigation.
As per the Act, the Central Government shall execute the project and obtain all requisite clearances including environmental, forests, and rehabilitation and resettlement norms.

Department is the Executing Agency for
Polavaram Irrigation Project (PIP) on behalf of Govt. of India.
The PIP is being looked after by the Chief
Engineer, PIP, WRD while the LA and R&R Works are being looked after by the Special Commissioner (R&R).
The consent for Polavaram Irrigation Project shall be deemed to have been given by the successor State of Telangana.
To carry out the purposes of the said provisions of the Act, the Central Government has constituted the Governing Body to Polavaram Project Authority and the Polavaram Project Authority.
